I am running for ME:) During my training for the AF Half in 2014, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I was crushed that I wouldn't be able to run in the race, but cancer didn't stop me from staying active. I was able to keep running through my chemotherapy treatments, up until the last round. It wasn't easy, but I did it! Once the side effects from chemo eased and I was a few weeks post surgery, I got back to my training and hit the trail. I am 38 and have four kids and running is a fun way for me to recharge, get some exercise and stay sane!
The AF Canyon Run Against Cancer is all about running for a cause. Each person runs for their own reason — and we’d love to hear about it! Connect with us and share your experiences using hashtag #afcanyonrun #whywerun.
