My husband, Dean, is an amazing man. He was diagnosed with brain cancer in July of 2012 and in spite of the dire prognosis, he remained positive and upbeat. His mantra became, it is what it is and instead of spending time worrying over things he couldn't control, he gave life everything he had. During his 22 month battle with brain cancer he found a way to finish the St. George Half Ironman and compete in the World Championship Ironman in Kona Hawaii. WOW!! Dean inspired everyone who came in contact with him by his ability to keep going and recognize the positive. He passed away on May 9, 2014, and I am running in his honor with my nine children and their spouses. Dean is my hero!
